About Us
Barnaby Goat Ranch is a small family farm located just outside of Weatherford, TX (approximately 30 minutes west of Fort Worth) with the hopes of expanding in the future. We got our first goats in 2014 and were immediately hooked by their quirky, fun, and sometimes difficult personalities. We have painstakingly, hand-picked and purchased quality animals (including well-known pedigrees) from reputable breeders and have culled hard over the years to get to the animals we breed today; hardy, fast-growing, low-maintenance purebred and percentage Kiko goats.
Between Brian and I, we started out our journey with quite a bit of previous animal training and husbandry knowledge, but we were lacking in specific goat experience. If you have never had goats before, they aren’t like raising anything else. True, any ranching background will help you out, but goat ranching is not the same as sheep ranching or cattle ranching. They all have their challenges and for goats, its the dreaded intestinal parasites and knowing the signs of an ailing goat that to the untrained eye, does not appear to be sick at all. We had a couple of difficult years, but we have learned and grown from it all and are loving where we have landed today. Our hopes with this website are to share our experiences to assist others new to goats, connect with other goat-lovers like ourselves, and (of course) sell some top-quality goats!
